Everyone knows that Ivanka Trump has gone through a stunning transformation over the years, but her growth is even more jaw-dropping when comparing pictures of the socialite and her younger self up close. Side-by-side photos posted on Instagram showed the shocking changes her appearance underwent over the years, reminding us of how much slimmer and more refined her face has become. And while the natural effects of getting older might partially explain her new look, the comparison picture only further demonstrates that Ivanka is practically unrecognizable in pics taken before rumored plastic surgery. Her transformation has come complete with a differently shaped nose and sharper jawline, which goes well beyond the natural limitations of aging.
Several medical experts agreed that plastic surgery played a much larger role in Trump’s metamorphosis. Dr. Gary Motykie felt he could even pinpoint some of the procedures Trump specifically turned to. “I think she’s had at least one rhinoplasty, if not two, and it looks like she did some sort of chin augmentation when she was younger — maybe a chin implant,” Motykie once said in an interview with Daily Mail. Additionally, other surgeons hadn’t ruled out other less invasive procedures like fillers to her chin and lips. Although her lips were already firm in her younger years, they’ve also experienced a bit of growth that coincided with the rest of her changing features.
How Ivanka Trump’s lifestyle might’ve contributed to her new face
Rose Hartman & Ethan Miller/Getty
It’s a popular consensus that plastic surgery helped radically alter Ivanka Trump’s appearance, but to be fair, that might not be the only explanation behind her new face. Trump has tampered with many different styles over the years that have had varying effects on her look. Although she’s a natural blonde, for instance, she’s been known to rock brunette hair for experimental purposes. Swapping out her golden locks for the much darker ‘do she occasionally wore in her younger years resulted in a subtle but noticeable change that shouldn’t be overlooked. Aside from Trump’s hair transformation, makeup could be another reason for her metamorphosis. After all, we’ve seen how the types of cosmetics someone uses can turn them into a completely different person, facially.
With how much Trump’s dabbled with her style during her years in the spotlight, it makes sense that changing makeup habits could also remodel her look entirely. However, plastic surgeons doubted that it was the reason why Trump’s face changed so drastically. Furthermore, when looking at the pictures more closely, not everything about her face seems altered. The fashion mogul’s skin has retained the same youthful glow that it had years prior. However, doctors felt that might’ve been the work of cosmetic surgery rather than cosmetics. Botox and laser treatments were both procedures that experts believed Trump had to ensure one feature of her face remained recognizable, per the Daily Mail. Ironically, however, that only added to the plastic surgery speculation.

Lara Trump’s Complete Style Transformation
By Rachel Cash
Updated: Dec. 27, 2024 4:51 pm EST
Static Media / Getty
One of the familiar faces of the Trump family and MAGA movement is Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump. The couple met in 2008, and they got engaged in 2013. They tied the knot the year after, and Eric and Lara’s lavish wedding took place at Mar-a-Lago, the club owned by Eric’s father Donald Trump.
Lara has worked as a pastry chef and personal trainer, but she later got a job working for “Inside Edition.” As Donald’s political career took off, Lara’s career also evolved. Lara stepped back from “Inside Edition” to focus on Donald’s campaign in 2016, which she discussed in an interview with Port City Daily, a newspaper from her hometown Wilmington, North Carolina. In that same interview, Lara spoke highly of her experience campaigning, saying, “[Being a part of this campaign] is the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. It’s incredible.” Lara also told the outlet, “When my father-in-law decided he was running for president, I said to him, ‘Look, this is my home. I know the people in North Carolina, and I want to go down there. You can send me anytime you want.'”
Lara continued working on Donald’s political career for his 2020 and 2024 re-election bids. She previously appeared on Fox News occasionally, she has also created her own internet shows such as “Real News” on Facebook and a podcast called “The Right View.” Over time, Lara’s personal style has evolved as her career has changed and politics has become a focus.
Lara’s sense of style before politics was more laidback
Davidoff Studios Photography/Getty
After they began dating in 2008, Eric Trump and Lara Trump (then Lara Yunaska) spent Thanksgiving that year at Mar-a-Lago. The above photo is a snapshot of the couple on the holiday. Lara can be seen in a strapless, satin red dress with ruching, seemingly chosen to match Eric’s red tie. It’s also evident from the photo that Lara dyed her hair since dark brown strands can be seen peeking out from the outer layer of almost platinum blond hair. (This photo was one of the throwback photos from before Lara’s rumored plastic surgery.)
Lara’s dress definitely fits the vibe of a Florida Thanksgiving, which was likely a lot warmer than a New York Thanksgiving would have been. The simple, somewhat laidback look was also similar to her look in other photos of her and Eric from before the Trump family’s foray into politics: a simple, solid color dress, two-toned hair, and minimal makeup.
Lara knew how to dress for the occasion for a zoo trip
Paul Zimmerman/Getty
Eric Trump and his then-girlfriend Lara Yunaska (now Lara Trump) headed to Staten Island Zoo in July 2012 for National Zookeeper Week. For that outing, Lara opted for another casual look. She wore a black tank top, cropped gray cargo pants, and tan sandals. Her hair color was still brown and blond, but this time her locks were crimped.
Per LinkedIn, 2012 is the year Lara began her work at “Inside Edition,” so this low-key look was another pre-politics outfit. It also fits the vibe of the zoo trip, since Lara and Eric were up close and personal with a feathered friend (as seen in the above photo). However, Eric was still dressed in a button-up shirt and slacks. Perhaps he should’ve followed his girlfriend’s footsteps and dressed down to visit the animals.
Lara evolved to a more preppy style as she supported Donald Trump’s political career
Brian Killian/Getty & @laraleatrump/Instagram
In June 2015, Donald Trump announced he was running for president in the 2016 election. A few days later, Lara Trump and Eric Trump hit the red carpet at a party for the now-defunct HudsonMOD Magazine (as seen above left). It seems that Lara’s sense of style had now shifted to a more preppy one. For instance, her hair was a lot more blond than it had been in some previous examples. She also seemed to be wearing darker eye makeup and lipstick. As for her dress, she wore a striped, knee-length dress with a belt and black, heeled sandals.
The embracing of preppy fashions continued in September 2015, when Lara shared a photo on Instagram with Eric and their dog. In the above-right snapshot, Lara wore a patterned black-and-white shirt, black pants, and black loafers.
The month prior, Lara took to Instagram to share a selfie in a white “Make America Great Again” baseball cap, fully showing support for her father-in-law’s political career with the “#Trump2016 #makeamericagreatagain” hashtags.
Lara in politics gravitates toward suits, skirts, and heels
@laraleatrump/Instagram & Samuel Corum/Getty
When Lara Trump officially became entrenched in the MAGA-verse and Donald Trump’s political career, three staples staked their claim in her wardrobe: pencil skirts, power suits, and high heels (especially heels with a pointed toe). In September 2018 when Donald spoke at the United Nations General Assembly, Lara wore a khaki-colored pencil skirt with a black blouse and cream-colored heels. She matched the color scheme of her sisters-in-law Tiffany Trump and Ivanka Trump, who were also wearing neutrals.
That December, Lara wore a navy blue suit while carrying her son, Luke Trump, around the Oval Office (as seen above left). Her pointy heels matched the blazer and pants.
While speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February 2020, Lara went for a white turtleneck and a dark magenta pencil skirt (as seen above right). In all those instances, Lara’s hair was curled or wavy and dirty blond. That hairstyle would stick around and seemingly became her go-to look.
Is Lara Trump attempting to achieve fashionista status?
Chip Somodevilla/Getty
In early 2024, Lara Trump was given a co-chair position for the Republican National Committee. However, in addition to her work with Donald Trump and the Republican party, Lara seems to be trying to establish herself as a renowned fashionista, as evidenced by the photoshoot she did with the conservative outlet The Conservateur. Some of the snapshots were a little odd, however, such as when she wore full-glam makeup while in workout clothes and rode a horse barefoot in a floor-length gown. The online magazine also claimed Lara hadn’t been interviewed by mainstream fashion outlets due to her right-wing politics, but there isn’t proof of that.
The designer that the first daughter-in-law worked with for that interview was Oscar Lopez, and he also designed Lara’s tacky American flag-inspired dress. Lara will likely continue taking big swings with fashion, based on the dress she wore for Donald’s speech on the night of the 2024 election. As seen above, she wore a black, long-sleeved dress with sequins on the bodice and feathery cuffs on the sleeve hems.
Ivanka Trump’s style evolved after she left politics behind, and the former model may have a copycat in her sister-in-law. In addition to her attempts at modeling high fashion, Lara launched an athleisure clothing line. Lara’s latest career move could definitely be a sign that she’s a wannabe Ivanka.

Celebrity Couples With The Biggest Age Differences
By Kelsie Calderon

Christopher Polk/hfa2016/Getty Images
Age is only a number. At least, that seems to be the case for a countless number of celebrity couples. Harrison Ford’s wife, actress Calista Flockhart, once admitted to Hello! magazine, “It doesn’t factor into our relationship at all.” Yet, while many well-known duos don’t notice their age differences, other people around them do.
In an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” even Kris Jenner’s own children commented on her age gap with her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, as reported by People. “It’s not even the age factor,” he explains to them. “It’s just the connection.” After all, we’re all adults here, right?
Sometimes, the perfect partner for you is only one or two — or 20 — years older and, in the end, it just seems to always work out. Here are just some of the many celebrity couples who have major age differences.
Ty Pennington and Kellee Merrell, who have a 23-year age difference, took their time
Instagram
In July 2021, “Trading Spaces” star Ty Pennington popped the question to his girlfriend, Kellee Merrell. Since she’s not in the spotlight herself — she’s actually a social media manager — the two had always kept their relationship pretty private. Yet, quickly after their engagement, it became public knowledge that the duo had a pretty big age difference. They’re 23 years apart, to be exact.
At the time of their engagement, the famous contractor was 56 years old and his soon-to-be bride was 33. However, just like their love, their age gap seems to have no limits. “Thank you … Universe … for creating this amazing human … who somehow tolerates me,” Pennington wrote on Instagram. “Even tho I’m beginning to look like papa smurf after a Willie Nelson concert.”
Though the two had met all the way back in 2010 when Merrill was in her early 20s, it wasn’t until 2020 that they reunited and made their relationship official. “Luckily, our paths finally crossed at the right time,” Pennington gushed to People.
Despite being a decade apart in age, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are both old souls
David M. Benett/Getty Images
As soon as Priyanka Chopra was first spotted with Nick Jonas in 2017, fans were instantly filled with jealousy. The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers had fallen in love — with someone a decade older. “People gave us a lot of s*** about that and still do,” Chopra admitted to InStyle. “I find it really amazing when you flip it and the guy is older, no one cares and actually people like it.”
Though everybody else seems to have a problem with the age gap, it’s never posed a problem for them. It turns out, though the Jonas Brother is 10 years younger, he’s actually an old soul out of the spotlight. “I call him Old Man Jonas,” Chopra revealed to Vogue.
Since tying the knot in 2018, the two have made their relationship look easy. Regardless of their age difference, they’re clearly head over heels for each other. “I can’t believe how lucky I am,” the Jonas Brother shared on Instagram.
A 13-year age difference doesn’t affect designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent
Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images
It always seemed to be destiny that Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent would make the ultimate designer duo. The two had known each other for years before deciding to go antique shopping for their first date. Though Berkus is 13 years older than Brent, their relationship always seemed to make sense. “I knew that Jeremiah was somebody I would be able to really build a beautiful life with,” Berkus explained to People, knowing that “I would be able to meet him at any phase of his life in kind and with respect and with joy for his accomplishments.”
Brent obviously agreed that they were meant for each other. In 2014, the two tied the knot in New York and have been together ever since.
In the end, there’s a reason they’ve been able to make their relationship last so long despite their large age difference. “You’ve got to really kind of understand what somebody else is going through, whether you’re in different chapters,” Brent explained. “And you’ve got to constantly have those conversations and those check-ins, and that, I know, is what we do really well.”
George Clooney and Amal Clooney had a connection despite being 17 years apart
Kevin Winter/Getty Images
When George Clooney first met Amal, “I couldn’t tell if she liked me, you know?” he admitted on “The Howard Stern Show.” “I’m 17 years older than her, so she might have thought I was, you know, grandpa.” Yet, even with their age difference, sparks seemed to instantly fly between the two of them.
While it was obvious to everyone else why they made the perfect pairing — even his agent knew she was the one for him — it was Amal’s father who wasn’t sure about their relationship. “The funniest part was that she gets a letter from her father going, ‘I’m going to give you 10 reasons why this is a terrible idea to date this guy,'” George later revealed. Their significant age difference may have been on that list, but that still didn’t stop them. In 2014, the Clooneys tied the knot in Italy, and they’ve been going strong ever since.
A 25-year age difference didn’t stop Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ love
Kevin Mazur/Getty Images
Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn’t think it’s a big deal that her husband Michael Douglas is older than her. “When my mother was telling me about men and telling me the facts of life, she never actually put an age bracket on it,” she explained during an interview with Larry King, so the actress always felt free to fall in love with whomever she pleased.
It was in the ’90s when she first met her now-husband. The two were introduced at a film festival, and Douglas was immediately interested in her. They were 25 years apart, and Zeta-Jones hadn’t even considered dating an older man — at first. “It’s so funny because Michael and my parents are the same age,” she admitted. Yet, after a year of chatting over the phone, the two became official and tied the knot in 2000.
Though their relationship has experienced some ups and downs in the public eye, their age difference has never had an impact on their marriage. “Never,” Zeta-Jones said, “and Michael never makes me feel like that.”
Gal Gadot and Jaron Varsano’s 10-year age difference affected their first date
Instagram
Starting up a conversation with a stranger at a party became something so much more for Gal Gadot. A random retreat in the desert was where she met the man of her dreams, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Her now-husband, real estate developer Jaron Varsano, knew that the famous actress was the one for him from the get-go. “He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn’t going to wait more than two years to ask me to marry him,” Gadot revealed to Glamour. While he may have seemed confident, the “Wonder Woman” actress wasn’t absolutely sure. “I was too young to get it. He did!” she admitted. “He’s 10 years older than me.”
Yet, regardless of their age difference, Gal Gadot and Jaron Varsano eventually ended up on the same page. Within those two years, as he had promised, they tied the knot.
Emilie Livingston and Jeff Goldblum are reminded of their 30-year age gap every day
Donato Sardella/Getty Images
Jeff Goldblum was getting in shape at the gym when he spied his future wife from afar. The famous actor decided to strike up a conversation and, funny enough, former Olympic gymnast Emilie Livingston had no idea who he was. “She hasn’t seen many of my movies still,” he later admitted during an interview on SiriusXM. Yet, she was still interested.
The couple’s 30-year age difference never posed a problem in their relationship until they decided to have children. It’s only because of their two little ones that Goldblum worries about being older than his wife. “I keep doing the math, and keep extrapolating where they’re going to be, and where I’m going to be,” he admitted to iNews. “And, when I buy a watch, I wonder who’s going to get it.” Other than that, marrying a younger woman has been a walk in the (Jurassic) park.
Age has never been an issue for Ellen DeGeneres, who is 15 years older than Portia de Rossi
Charley Gallay/Getty Images
Many fans may not know that Ellen DeGeneres is 15 years older than her wife, Portia de Rossi. Few know because it’s never been an issue in their relationship — until the idea of having children comes up. “That’s the only time I think about age,” DeGeneres admitted to People.
The two initially met through mutual friends and felt an immediate connection. It wasn’t until 2008, when same-sex marriage became legal in California, that the two were finally able to tie the knot.
For the most part, they’ve kept their relationship fairly low-key, but fans have gotten a few glimpses of de Rossi during her appearances on DeGeneres’ daytime talk show. As we’ve watched the famous comedian open up every episode with a dance number, it seems safe to say that her age has never been an issue in any situation. “I forget how old I am,” DeGeneres admitted, and her moves prove it.
Florence Pugh and Zach Braff want people to stop caring about their 21-year age gap
Instagram
In 2019, Florence Pugh and Zach Braff were spotted together for the very first time. The two had met on the set of Braff’s short film “In the Time It Takes to Get There” and seemed to hit it off. Yet, it took no time at all for outlets to start reporting on their relationship. Though the two actors were clearly interested in each other in all of the photos plastered of them together online, their 21-year age gap had people panicking. Fans even headed over to Instagram in order to voice their opinions on Pugh’s personal account.
After Braff had commented on one of his girlfriend’s photos in early 2020, one follower took the time to drop a comment regarding their age difference — and the hurtful comments haven’t stopped there. Yet, through it all, the two have continued to defend their relationship.
Since making their partnership public, Pugh has had the perfect response to everyone doubting her relationship, too. “I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love,” she said during an interview with The Times. “It is not your place and, really, it has nothing to do with you.”
Dennis Quaid and Laura Savoie fell in love with each other, despite their 39-year age difference
Marco Garcia/Getty Images
Dennis Quaid knew his wife was the one as soon as he laid eyes on her. The two had a 39-year age difference, but that didn’t matter. “You have no control over who you fall in love with,” he later told The Guardian.
His wife is the same age as his oldest son, and people the world over have had an opinion on it. Yet, marrying someone like Savoie was never his intention. “I didn’t go looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me,” he said. It had just happened.
The actor met Laura Savoie during a business event, and he had never anticipated the meeting turning into anything more than that. Yet, the two instantly fell in love and eventually eloped in 2020. “I just love who she is as a person,” Quaid told People. “Her character, her intelligence, of course, her beauty. And her point of view of the world.”
Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves met each other at the ideal time
Michael Buckner/Getty Images
Matthew McConaughey is “not a club guy,” he told People. However, in 2006, he made a spur-of-the-moment decision to join his friends at one. Today, he’s glad he did. It’s where he met his wife, model and entrepreneur Camila Alves. Yet, at the time, “I was not looking,” he admitted. “I was very happily single.” It’s not exactly the kind of cute meetup you would expect from rom-com star McConaughey, but it turned out alright, alright, alright.
Though the Oscar-winning actor is 13 years older than his wife, their age difference has actually been a big key to their successful relationship. “It’s got to be the right person, but it has to be the right time,” he explained. “I could have met her 15 years ago, and it wouldn’t have — maybe not — wouldn’t have been.” At this moment in time, their relationship clearly works out.
Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin have disagreements because of their age difference
Michael Kovac/Getty Images
Age is only a number to Alec Baldwin. “My goal wasn’t to marry a much younger woman,” he explained on “Literally! With Rob Lowe.” Yet, he knew Hilaria was the one the moment he was seated at a table next to her at a local restaurant.
Because of their 26-year age difference, Alec Baldwin has admitted that he and his wife clearly have a “generational gap.” In order to be respectful while they were dating, he would even end each night with a handshake. “He shook my hand for six weeks and didn’t kiss me when we met,” Hilaria revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Yet, their “generational gap” seems to be the widest when they’re raising their six children together. “We do not always agree,” Baldwin admitted to Rob Lowe. “My wife prevails, if you will, but we do not always agree because I’m still much older than my wife.” Yet, you know what they say: happy wife, happy life!
Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz will never worry about their 17-year age gap
Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Heidi Klum looks like she hasn’t aged a day in the spotlight. However, when she began dating her now-husband, Tom Kaulitz, people seemed to have a problem with the fact that he was 17 years younger than her. “That’s really the only time when age seems to be shoved in my face,” she told InStyle. The supermodel knows she’s getting older like everybody else in the world, but aging is something she doesn’t think much about.
Having a major age difference with her significant other isn’t anything new for the supermodel, either. She was previously married to the singer Seal, who is 10 years older than her — so it’s clear that Klum really doesn’t care what the world has to say about her husband’s age. “You have to just live a happy life without worrying too much about what people think,” she said. “Because worrying is only going to give you more wrinkles,” which is some of the greatest advice Klum has ever given.
Because of their 23-year age gap, John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh had a kid together quickly
Tara Ziemba/Getty Images
Even though John Stamos is 23 years older than his wife, Caitlin McHugh, the two have a lot of other things in common. “We have the same morals and the same values,” he told People. “That all clicked nicely.”
They met on the set of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” all the way back in 2011, but it wasn’t until her roommate appeared on “Fuller House” that Stamos took notice of her. “She was in the audience. I walked in, I went, ‘Hey, are you stalking me?'” Stamos explained. “She was like, ‘No.’ That’s why I love her. She’s like, ‘What? No. I haven’t thought of you twice.'” Have mercy!
After that second encounter, the two immediately started dating, and McHugh even suggested they should have a baby as soon as possible. Why? “Because you’re old,” she told him. In 2018, their adorable son, Billy, was born.
Kris Jenner is taking it slow with Corey Gamble, who is 29 years younger than her
Kevin Mazur/Getty Images
Kris Jenner is not at all concerned that her boyfriend is 29 years younger than her. After all, “age is just a number,” as she so eloquently said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
She and Corey Gamble met all the way back in 2014 at a party, according to Cosmopolitan. After catching a glimpse of the momager across the room, Gamble knew he needed to take a gamble on her. Once they got to talking, they never seemed to stop. The two have been together ever since.
While it may seem as though their relationship is getting serious after all this time, marriage doesn’t seem to be in the cards for this couple. “You know, I’ve done that twice, and it didn’t work out so well,” Jenner admitted. However, she has since been spotted wearing a diamond on that finger. When asked about it on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in 2018, Jenner refused to answer any questions and had everyone wondering what exactly was going on with Gamble. As she once so famously said herself on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” “This is a case for the FBI!”
There’s a reason why Harrison Ford’s 22-year age gap with Calista Flockhart works
Kevork Djansezian/bafta La/Getty Images
Winning a Golden Globe Award is one thing, but walking away with the love of your life from that same awards show is another. That’s exactly what happened to Harrison Ford in 2002, when he met actress Calista Flockhart. “I’m in love,” he once shared, according to Hello! magazine. “Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life.” Notably, Ford is 22 years older than his wife.
While being married to a man who’s more than two decades older may sound difficult, it’s never affected Flockhart’s feelings toward him. “Sometimes I even say, ‘Wow, I keep forgetting that he’s [22] years older than me,'” the actress admitted to People (via ABC News).
From Ford’s perspective, there’s a reason his marriage has lasted so long. His advice? “Don’t talk,” he joked to Parade. “Nod your head.”

Celebrities Who Got Married As Teenagers
By Jessica Booth
Dec. 19, 2018 12:34 pm EST
Getty Images
When it comes to relationships, celebrities are often known for moving really quickly — as in, going from dating to engaged to married in a matter of a few months. They definitely aren’t afraid to take things to the next level! Sometimes, A-listers even do this when they’re probably too young to be making those kinds of decisions — some even as young as when they’re teenagers. You might think Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, who got married at 24 and 22-years-old, are young, but that’s practically ancient compared to the age these young stars tied the knot.
There are a lot of celebrities out there who took the leap into marriage when they weren’t even old enough to legally drink alcohol or even vote yet. Sadly, most of these relationships ended in divorce and didn’t make it past a few years, or, in some cases, a few months. Still, it’s interesting to hear about these once-intense love stories and what the stars learned from them. Below are a few celebs who got married when they were just teenagers.
Demi Moore and Freddy Moore
Getty Images / YouTube
Demi Moore actually got her famous last name from her first marriage. According to Huffington Post, Demi married Freddy Moore in 1980, when she was just 17-years-old. He was 12 years older than her. The couple were only together for about four years before they divorced, which was the same time Demi started dating her St. Elmo’s Fire co-star Emilio Estevez. Demi had been using his name as her stage name, and, as we all know, kept it after the divorce.
Although Demi hasn’t spoken about the marriage publicly, Freddy opened up about their relationship to Australia’s NW magazine in 2018, saying that the two started “hooking up” in 1979, when Demi was 16-years-old and still with her then boyfriend, Tom. He said, “I fell in love with her and as soon as she had me hooked, she dumped Tom and insisted I divorce my wife. I was so infatuated, I did it.”
Macaulay Culkin and Rachel Miner
Getty Images
In 1998, Macaulay Culkin married actress Rachel Miner when they were both just 17 years old. According to the New York Daily News, they met when they were students at the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, and had only been dating for a few months before deciding to get married. Before they could set a date, they both needed permission from their parents. In a statement, the couple said, “We’re so happy and proud that we found each other at such a young age. We look forward to spending our lives together.” According to Playbill, the two tied the knot on June 21, 1998 in a small ceremony in Connecticut.
Unfortunately, the union didn’t last long. After two years of marriage, Culkin and Miner announced they were separating. Culkin’s spokesman confirmed the separation to Entertainment Tonight (via ABC News), saying, “It is very amicable and they remain best of friends.”
Kim Kardashian and Damon Thomas
Getty Images
It’s easy to forget that Kim Kardashian was married not once, but twice, before settling down with Kanye West. Before marrying Kris Humpheries, Kardashian eloped with music producer Damon Thomas in 2000 in Las Vegas, when she was just 19-years-old. They remained married for three years before getting a divorce.
In 2010, The Daily Mail received exclusive copies of the celeb couple’s divorce papers, filed in 2003. According to the court documents, Thomas was physically and verbally abusive towards Kardashian and would do things like slam her against the wall, throw her across the room, punch her in the face, and bully her. He supposedly gave her money to get liposuction and plastic surgery so she would be “perfect.” In 2014, Thomas did a tell-all interview with In Touch Weekly, claiming Kardashian is a “fame whore” who “does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media,” among many other things.
In a 2018 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (via People), Kardashian revealed that she was on drugs when they got married, saying, “I got married on ecstasy. The first time.”
Solange Knowles and Daniel Smith
Getty Images / Instagram
When Solange Knowles was 17-years-old, she married her high school sweetheart, football player Daniel Smith, who was 19, in the Bahamas with their family and close friends in attendance. When she was 18, she gave birth to their son, Daniel Julez J. Smith, Jr., and the family moved to Moscow, Idaho, where Smith was in college. In October 2007, Knowles confirmed in an interview with Essence that she and Smith had separated. Knowles later told Elle that relocating to Idaho was “one of the most bittersweet moments” of her life, saying she was isolated and “lonely.”
Knowles hasn’t expressed regret about marrying and having a child at a young age. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2014, she said, “In a lot of ways, emotionally and mentally, I feel far older than 27. Just going through a marriage and a divorce — which I essentially did by 21 — will give you an insane amount of perspective on life.”
Bo Derek and John Derek
Getty Images
Actress Bo Derek caused quite the scandal when she got married at 18-years-old to someone 30 years her senior. According to Interview, Bo met her husband, director John Derek, when he cast her in his movie Fantasies when she was 16-years-old. Although he was married to actress Linda Evans at the time, he and Bo fell in love while filming in Greece. Bo ended up dropping out of high school so she could stay in Europe with him and avoid statutory rape laws, and when she was 18-years-old, her and John came back to California and got married. They ended up staying married until he died in 1998.
When speaking to Interview years later, Bo admitted to feeling “terrible” about the fact that John was married when they fell in love, saying she did the wrong thing and she will never forgive herself for it. But in another interview with Larry King, Bo said their marriage was “fantastic,” saying, “There were so many things going against it, first of all, 30 years age difference.” She added, “But 25 years later, it was obviously meant to be.”
Milla Jovovich and Shawn Andrews
Actress Milla Jovovich was only 16-years-old when she married her Dazed and Confused co-star Shawn Andrews. In an interview with Mashable, the director, Richard Linklater, said that Jovovich and Andrews were married for about a month, saying, “I think Milla’s mother annulled it because her daughter was like 16.”
In a 2011 interview with The Daily Mail, Jovovich said she “ran off to Vegas” to marry Andrews as a teen “to prove a point to my mum.” She also said she wanted a bank card, explaining, “I was a big girl as far as I was concerned and I wanted to establish myself as an adult, as I was working like one and being treated like one by everyone else. It wasn’t about being in love, but when you’re 16 you have to take three rights to make a left.” However, in an interview with Maxim, actor Jason London, who was also in Dazed and Confused, said Andrews was never interested in interacting “with really anyone except Milla Jovovich.”

Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson have a long history that began when they met on the set of The Harrad Experiment when Griffith was 14-years-old and Johnson was 22. They wed when Griffith was 18, but the marriage only lasted six months before they got divorced, and their problems were attributed to their drug and alcohol addictions. Griffith later told The Hollywood Reporter, “I thought he was the most beautiful person I’d ever seen.” Her mother, Tippi Hedren, told the publication she was in “sheer panic” about Griffith falling for an older man.
Nearly ten years after getting divorced, Griffith and Johnson ended up getting back together. In 1989, they remarried, and four months later, they had a daughter, actress Dakota Johnson. The two ended up separating in March 1994, reconciling later that year, then separating again in May 1995 before divorcing in 1996. In a 2018 interview with InStyle, Griffith said she doesn’t think marriage is “relevant for anyone anymore.”

LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet got married in 2002, when she was 19-years-old. The two were together for a little more than seven years when they announced they were separating. The news of their separation followed many rumors about Rimes having an affair with Eddie Cibrian, and came right after Cibrian’s wife, Brandi Glanville, said she and the actor were getting a divorce.
Sheremet spoke about their split in an episode of Personal Space (via Bravo), saying that while the divorce was devastating for him, it was also “the biggest growth” of his life. He said, “You know, we got married, I was 21 and she was 19, so it’s like I think about that, and it’s like I wasn’t even thinking about getting engaged at that time or married. You don’t even know anything about yourself. That’s not to discredit, you know, we were in love, and it was right at the time.” Rimes later wrote a song about cheating on Sheremet called “What Have I Done,” and once told Katie Couric, “I’ve carried a lot of guilt for a long time, I think.”

In 2003, when Olivia Wilde was 18 years old, she eloped with Tao Ruspoli, an Italian prince whose family owns Rome’s Palazzo Ruspoli, according to People. The two spent eight years together as a married couple before they officially divorced in the spring of 2011. Shortly after the divorce, Wilde admitted that leaving someone she had spent her 20s with was difficult, but she didn’t regret the choice she made to marry young. She told Marie Claire, “Our deal from the beginning was, ‘We’re crazy to do this, but we’re doing it because we’re in love and it makes us happy.'”
She also spoke about the divorce during an episode of The Conversation with Amanda De Cadenet, saying that she tried redecorating their entire home to avoid ending the relationship. Once she realized it was over, she said she felt “the most terrified I’ve ever been.” She added, “The day I knew I had to ask for a divorce was the worst day of my life.”
